“A flyleaf is the blank page at the front of a book,” explains Lacey Mosley, Flyleaf’s vocalist. “It’s the dedication page, the place you write a message to someone you’re giving a book to. And, that’s kind of what our songs are — personal messages that provide a few moments of clarity before the story begins”.
Flyleaf is a… well. The band has been categorized into a variety of genres, such as alternative metal, alternative rock, Christian rock, hard rock, etcetera.
But since those all obviously branch out from the rock genre, I consider them a rock band.
I’m smart like that.
This group has risen up to be my second favorite band ever. I love them.
They’ve released a new (rocking and sexy) single, titled Again, from their upcoming album Memento Mori (a Latin phrase meaning ‘remember you will die’) which comes out in October.
I’m so psyched for it I could continuously scream I SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM while jumping around on one foot and eating a banana.
And yes, that is completely relevant to Flyleaf and their new album.
Take a listen to their new song, ¡por favor!
¡Muchas gracias!
I love Flyleaf, they’re simply amazing. Lacey Mosley has a killer voice.
And she nails all of the notes she sings.
Plus, if you’ve ever listened to any of Flyleaf’s songs (or since you will because I give great recommendations) she can scream just as well.
The rest of the band does a great job too, obviously!
All the instruments and vocals are stitched together perfectly when these guys play.
- Sameer Bhattacharya – plays the lead guitar and sings backing vocals.
- Jared Hartmann – plays the rhythm guitar and sings backing vocals.
- Pat Seals – plays the bass and sings backing vocals.
- James Culpepper – plays the drums and does the percussion.
I guess you can kind of compare Flyleaf to Paramore in the terms that they both have female vocalists and a guy band behind them.
Though their music is similar, it isn’t quite the same. Flyleaf is better than Paramore in my opinion.
Paramore gives deep meaning through their music, but Flyleaf gives an even deeper one.
Yes, I’m a really, really deep person.

I see through your sooooouuuuuuuuul!
So give these guys and their admirable female vocalist a listen. You won’t regret it.
In the meanwhile, I’ll be screaming for ice cream, hopping on one foot and
eating a banana when the album is released.
